Bangkok Community Theatre (BCT) proudly invites you to attend the combined 2012 Annual General Meeting & BOB Awards
to be held on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at 7:00pm at The British Club

Every February, BCT holds their Annual General Meeting where they review the events of the past year and discuss plans for the future. If you have any interest in getting involved with theatre in Bangkok, this is a great opportunity to meet like-minded souls and to find out more about what is in the works in the way of English-language theatre.

Furthermore, the AGM is only part of the evening. The event also includes the infamous BCT “Bob” awards, BCT’s tongue in cheek answer to the Oscars. BCT cast and crew members will win beautiful golden statuettes (A Bob) in honour of flagrant upstaging, nonsensical improvisation and most embarrassing moments to name but a few examples. The Bobs are great fun and are kept secret up until the last minute!

“Nunsense” is a delightful romp of a musical about five nuns who are putting on a fund-raising concert. It seems that the convent cook, Sister Julia-Child of God, accidentally poisoned fifty-two fellow sisters with a bad batch of vichyssoise, and these five are trying to raise money to bury the remaining sisters who are temporarily stowed in the freezer! “Nunsense” is a fast-paced hilarious musical comedy that won 4 outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Musical during its 10-year run in New York.

“Tis the Season to Sparkle”
Come to the BCT Christmas Party and add a little something sparkly to your glamorous holiday outfit…
This year’s holiday bash is scheduled for Friday 9th December, 2011 in the Wordsworth Room at the British Club, Silom Soi 18 from 7:30pm onwards.
Come with your singing voices at the ready and your dancing shoes. There will be an early evening karaoke-style competition with a festive twist, followed by music and dancing the night away. There will also be a raffle with some appropriate seasonal prizes!

So dress glam, and don’t forget the theme and add that little something sparkly to your “get up” and come down to the British Club and toast the holiday season.
BCT will provide one voucher for a glass of mulled wine and a mini minced pie for the occasion.

As we are pre-ordering wine and pie, it is important that you RSVP if you are planning to join. Please let us know how many will be in your party by November 30th. You can RSVP to Kristen at kristenevelyn@gmail.com or Steve at stevofry@yahoo.com.

Due to the floods and schools and business closure in Bangkok during this week, we have decided to postpone this week's planned BCT Club Night. Depending on the situation in the city the club night is now confirmed for Thursday 10th November at the British Club (Silom Soi 18) for 7.30pm.
Please email stevofry@yahoo.com if you still plan to attend on this new date, Apologies for any inconvenience

Dear BCT Members and Friends,

We hope that you are surviving the floods and that you have not suffered too much damage. We understand many of you have left the city for the duration so we are uncertain as to whether to hold our "Nonsense with Nunsense Revisited" club night this Thursday, November 3rd at The British Club at 7:30. Silom road is still dry as are all access points near there so it would be easy to hold the event and the British Club is happy to have us. Plus those who have stayed in the city working, volunteering, etc may well be in need of a light distraction and "Nonsense with Nunsense" will be a great night out!

However, with so many of you away, we are not sure who will attend! So.....

We are asking for confirmed numbers by 8pm tomorrow, Tuesday evening, November 1st. If we have at least 5 confirmed attendees, we will go ahead with the event. If not, we will postpone until the floods have subsided.

Please send your confirmation to Steven Fry <stevofry@yahoo.com>

As a token effort towards supporting the flood relief effort, we will waive the non-member fee for the evening and kindly ask you to donate that money to local flood relief efforts: Thai Red Cross and Soi Dog Rescue are two good organizations if you need a suggestion.

Thank you and we hope to see you on Thursday!
